Honest Mistake

I have had Pennzoil Ultra in a 2004 Impala SS for 12 months and 2K miles and I am thinking about leaving it in another 6 months... What the heck.

I have read that the oil does not break down and can last 3 years plus. Just make sure it is driven 30 minutes plus every once in a while to burn off any moisture.

Went almost 14 months on my mom's Implala SS 5.3. 3000 miles. I had a mix of shell synthetic and dino 50-50. The oil life monitor said 47% life left. Not sure if GM's monitor tries to calculate using-up TBN. I put in Mobil 1 this time, I think the TBN is a little higher which is probably the only part of the oil wearing out.

I should have stated "oil does not break down by not being used(driven)"...

My summer toy, the Marauder in my sig, gets very little use...maybe 2500 miles in a year, but it's always warmed up properly when driven. It sits all winter and I never start it just to start it. I left the last change of PP in it for just shy of 2 years.
