Honda 10AT Teardown

Just stumbled across this tonight. According to the upload date it has been up there for 3 years or so, so if its been posted before, apologies.

Always interested to see things taken apart. Honda crammed a ton of stuff into a little space. Haven't heard a lot about these boxes as they're still fairly new. Hope they hang in there long term, and hopefully they're good and strong since they're using them in some fairly heavy vehicles with a decent amount of power.

 
Wow i like the fluid cooler idea. I guess no more cooler in the radiator. But I’m not sure how you would add an external cooler if you needed more cooling for racing or towing conditions.

Dunno if you'd ever need one as long as the radiator is sufficient. The one on the Honda is very similar looking to the one that Ford uses on my 10R80 and it has no problem with heat, even in the summer towing heavy. That and they run transmissions a whole lot hotter these days than they used to. I'm sure there are some edge-cases but for the vast majority it should be ok.
