Yep. This stuff is in folks' heads.I’ll get flamed for this, but if someone said Mobil 1 made their car perkier, they’d be laughed outta here lol

Aka the BiTOG booty dynoASTM is developing a perky test due out in early 2025
You don't know my car like I do.Will that test more stringent than the "my car loves it" test?
can’t be shipped economically due to the chemical compositioni saw someone post a HPL Fuel System Cleaner. I don't see it on their website though. Is this a new product not for sale yet?
Those are perfect driving conditions, that engine should last forever. 10K should be a walk in the park for that oil under those conditions.Got an email notification the sample has arrived and was processed in the lab. These numbers look really promising!

90% Highway, 10% City driving, 100 miles per day, fairly hard spirited driving during the oil service. Used 2 cans of BG 44K in 2 full fills of my gas tank during this oil service duration and the base number is reading very high as if it didn't dent at all. Product data sheet says the oil has a Base number of >13.5 . Looking forward to see how the oil turns up at 10,000 miles.
Oil was sampled directly from the clean side of the oil filter: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/media/albums/fram-titanium-fs3600-5603-miles-hpl-pc5w30-q.67/
Filter used was a FRAM FS3600, the car OE size calls for a tiny YZZN1 / FS4967, so the oil capacity was increased from 3.9 to 4.5 quarts
Sounds more like "pinging" to me. LSPI is a problem in some small TURBOCHARGED engines with Direct Injection...none of yours listed are such, are they? LSPI tends to be very violent, not just a slight knock.I just realized why I may have "felt" a difference. When I was running the Total oil before...I would have moments of LSPI. To the point where I switched to running premium fuel to help with that. Since switching to HPL I have gone back to regular fuel and I have not heard the LSPI at all yet. I know Toyota (and most modern cars) likes to run right on the edge of detonation, perhaps it was pulling some timing because of all that. Now its not having the LSPI so it maybe the timing was restored. WOT power and feel are unchanged, this is all part throttle low rpm stuff that where the difference is.
Weird, the car burns 0 oil. Its also normal port injected. Why did I have LSPI to begin with? I also run a catch can.
Same engine in my other car I had no difference in feel and never had LSPI issues before or after oils.
Call me crazy lol

Re: "pulling some timing", many people think "timing" is the only thing being adjusted to compensate for pinging...however, richening the fuel mixture is a common adjustment by the control system, as that serves to cool the combustion chamber so premature ignition is less likely.
Realize that there is only ONE POINT in the piston travel at a given throttle opening, workload, and RPM where the spark can occur at an ideal time. This is another way to say: "advancing timing" only helps up to that point AND NO MORE...so using a higher and higher Octane that exceeds the rating needed to avoid pre-mature ignition doesn't help. Also, "pulling timing" makes the resultant ignition event less than ideal so power is lost....however the combustion chamber temp may drop which can help the subsequent compression phase less likely to have a premature ignition event (ping).
I am confused, isnt the HPL EC30 a cleaner? If the regular oil has more cleaning power, why get the EC30There's more cleaning power in the oil, than in the HPL EC30.
Are you planning on using both in the same OCI?
Did you speak with someone from HPL about this?
to not overwhelm the oil filterI am confused, isnt the HPL EC30 a cleaner? If the regular oil has more cleaning power, why get the EC30
Because the EC30 is a bit more gentle...in case you have a real problem in your engine cleanliness. Cleaning too suddenly is, by definition, too fast...it can overwhelm the filtering system.I am confused, isnt the HPL EC30 a cleaner? If the regular oil has more cleaning power, why get the EC30
in theory this would work yes, but as seen in my C&P’s of my high mileage 6.0L LQ4 LS motor, 3k miles with the EC40 in the sump resulted in a pretty loaded filter.Okay, so ensure you are watching it and have a great filter.
The EC30 cleaned so quickly on our 2000 Volvo V70 that I’d be reluctant to start with straight HPL.Okay, so ensure you are watching it and have a great filter.
