All the parts come from china. Some may be better than others.Me as well. I’m lucky enough to have a great auto electric place that is local, uses quality parts, and can do the work quickly if needed.

That’s probably true but everything I’ve had done by them has either retired when the vehicle did or else is still working. All the parts come from china. Some may be better than others.
But a crappy rebuild might solder in a new diode. A quality rebuilder would replace the bridge. All the parts come from china. Some may be better than others.
Then the bridge might be low quality but the one he soldered in may be the last of the good ones in his stashBut a crappy rebuild might solder in a new diode. A quality rebuilder would replace the bridge.
That's a new low that I hadn't previously considered. But a crappy rebuild might solder in a new diode.
A rebuilder in NY told me that's what the remans coming from outside the country were doing 10 years ago. That's a new low that I hadn't previously considered.
There are 6 in the bridge. All good rebuilders will have an oscilloscope. Then the bridge might be low quality but the one he soldered in may be the last of the good ones in his stash
Most buy from Chinese manufacturers today, some are better than others. I tried a couple of WAI and was not impressed with the quality or the fitment (10mm wider than the OE that caused a problem), the Remy at least fit properly and so far work okay so it seems there is a difference. Is Remy anything but a name and logo for a Chinese manufacturer anymore?
+1Bosch does good rebuilds too. Their rebuilt alternator actually lasted longer than the factory new one.
