Healthy eating....or so we thought....

The fact of the matter is this.
Medical school does not teach nutrition to doctors.

As of today, only 12 medical schools require a substantial nutrition course.
Doctors do not know about proper nutrition. They know how to treat disease, provide tests and administer drugs as a general rule.

Things are changing though, and it’s about time. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I firmly believe the last thing the drug industry wants people to learn is how to properly eat the right foods.

This deserves a whole new thread, but this link below is my proof. I was astounded that after decades and decade, decades and decades of medical schools, they are only starting to now teach up-and-coming doctors about nutrition.

Like, oh my God, how the heck are we turning out doctors without substantial knowledge on nutrition????

OK, since you asked for my opinion??
We are not the advanced society that we think we are. We are primitive in some of the worst possible ways. Walk in a supermarket and you will find 3 to 5 aisles of crap that we should not be eating. Literally poison.

Walking in a Sam’s Club warehouse I believe I counted seven rows about 30 feet long of junk food. That’s not including the bakery section.

We are drowning in diseases that should have been wiped out, instead we continue to pollute our bodies and have doctors prescribe drugs from the drug industry to counteract that ignorant behavior. The emotional toll and the families destroyed as well as the cost of care because of the lack of information given to the public.

The toll on the American healthcare industry is astounding, and then we complain about the cost of health insurance. We as a people love to complain about things that we don’t have to take responsibility for, we blame someone else.

Sadly, we need to get proactive and seek out that information ourselves because the medical industry is not going to do it for us. They will keep us sick.
There are so many books on how to do things and many threads even in this very forum of information you could seek out and then have an informed discussion with your doctor

Not arguing in the slightest, but from a doctor's perspective, getting your typical sick patient to comply with popping some pills is going to be orders of magnitude higher than a diet and exercise regime.

Oh, believe me, I agree. Especially in the very limited amount of time they get to spend with the patient.
I mentioned to you many times the male members of my family. I know none of us is perfect including me for sure but when it comes to health, I don’t know. Maybe I just learned from them not to do what they do.

However, I think we can both agree that most doctors are not well-versed in nutrition at all, but I hope that is changing and I think turning the food pyramid is one of the first good signs

Last drink? How can you live knowing that when you wake up in the morning that's as good as you're going to feel all day? :ROFLMAO:
So, the only way to feel good is to have a drink? I enjoy a drink, but I can have very good days without one. In fact, I usually feel much better after my swim and coffee than when I first get up. I do not find your response as amusing as you think it is.

My Wallabees (sp?) went in the trash as soon as I got a pair of Frye Boots. I got rid of those when I got some roughout swede cowboy boots. Something like this, but much taller.

The chuka boots were definitely a style of the time, but my idea of "cool" was cowboy boots. Wallabees were a moral, philosophical and fashion mistake. :ROFLMAO:
