Havoline ProDS 6qt box is now in stock at my local Walmart for around $20. My Mustang GT 4.6l is a 6qt oil change. So that's around $3.50 a qt. Seems like a good buy.
Is there any other product around $20-25 that I should at instead of purchasing the Havoline Syn Box?

I would stick with the ProDS if it works for you. It's a good product and excellent value. I thought the box would somehow cheat me out of oil when it first came out but I think I was wr...wr...wrrrr... wrong.

Havoline is an excellent oil, especially the DS. Well regarded by many on BITOG. In my opinion, it's currently the best value in oil today. Use with confidence!

And really TLR is exactly right.

So far, I haven't found any regular priced oil that matches this price point for 6 quarts - at least in my area. It's perfect for sumps that take 5-6 qts. With rebates taken into account, PP gets close, but I like not having to mess with rebates if I don't have to. Certainly one of the best values in oil out there - especially in the 6qt. package. From UOAs Havoline seems to be a great product. Just wish the Pro DS was easier to obtain for me in 0w20 and 5w30 weights. If your Wally World has it in stock, I would use it and not look back!

I have to go to town (52 miles) next Monday for a Drs. appt. I will stop at the Mega WM there. That WM has EVERYTHING! I bet they have this in all flavors.
Do you think this new 6 qt. packaging will make other oil companies do the same? Or, does Havoline/Chevron own the patent rights to this type of oil packaging?

I'm still holding out for recyclable oil jugs. Buy a refillable jug. Use it the return it with used oil to get new oil. I would make it a 6 qt container an you buy whatever volume you need below that. Get a big name like SOPUS to back that and you're in business. I think even Supertech could make some noise with this approach. Oil vending machine.

They make coatings now there are completely oil repelling. if they put it in a catchup bottle, the catchup just falls out the end with none left behind. This would minimize the cleaning needed.
