Being the DS does not get much talk around here, a while back I read that it does indeed have some pretty good shear stable viscosity modifiers in it, but the TBN would get real marginal at 3k and be almost depleted at 5k. I can;t find where I read that, and I wanted to verify if there is any truth to this.

Just picked up 22 qts of 5w30 on sale at walmart. They still have loads of 10w-40 left but I have no use for that in anything I own.

I've had good results w/5w30 DS in the Camaro and Truck. It didn't do so well in the '09 Prius.

In the Prius it sheared down into the 20w area at only 4k miles. Granted, the engine was between 1200 and 5200 miles and not yet smoothed out, and DS is thin anyway, but I don't remember it doing that in the other cars.

I don't worry about TBN since I don't keep it in for extended periods.
