Got the 2011 Road King Classic 103 in January 2011 and in-between the snow, ice, rain and abundant sunshine of Colorado, have managed to put on just about 6,000 miles on the bike.
Changed the three holes to Mobil V-Twin 20W-50 (engine) at 800 miles along with Primary and Transmission (Shockproof) to V-Twin Redline Synthetics.
At 2500 miles, changed out the engine oil to Mobil V-Twin 20W-50.
At 5,000 miles, changed out all three holes (will go 5,000 miles from now on) to all Redline oils... V-Twin 20W-50 oil in the engine.
By changing from Mobil V-Twin to Redline, the engine is running smoother, sounding less like a sewing machine and more like a V-Twin. The loud ticking with the Mobil oil is a lot quieter with the Redline in the engine.
Mobil V-Twin and Redline both make excellent oils... this is a given!
From what I'm hearing, with 1,000 miles now on the engine with the Redline, the bike is running A LOT quieter.
As usual, YMMV!
