I would use it. My car is a '94 and the manual recommends SG/SH, so that stuff is still better than my factory fill. If yours recommends SL or SM though, I'd either find a relative with an older car that can use it, or possibly use a quart per oil change mixed with newer stuff. I hate wasting oil too.
 
Are you selling this, or is it just on the floor?

If you are not selling it, why not keep it on hand for those folks who are going through their change to get oil for their beater so they can get back and forth to their minimum wage job and have to decide between oil and a gallon of milk for the kiddos.

SJ oil should be fine for one of these older cars, as long as it's known that the store did not give it away. (Liability issues I'm sure.)

here's a better idea- auction the stuff on "that" website then donate proceeds to Church or other not for profit organization.
Seriously, want to sell a qt for 5 bucks + shipping?
