I would use it. My car is a '94 and the manual recommends SG/SH, so that stuff is still better than my factory fill. If yours recommends SL or SM though, I'd either find a relative with an older car that can use it, or possibly use a quart per oil change mixed with newer stuff. I hate wasting oil too.

My mother-in-law has a case of 30-wt Amalie SJ in her garage, may take it off of her hands. Maybe good ARX clean/rinse oil? = Free.

Are you selling this, or is it just on the floor?

If you are not selling it, why not keep it on hand for those folks who are going through their change to get oil for their beater so they can get back and forth to their minimum wage job and have to decide between oil and a gallon of milk for the kiddos.

SJ oil should be fine for one of these older cars, as long as it's known that the store did not give it away. (Liability issues I'm sure.)

Yeah SJ is NOT that old. I have run plenty of SJ M1 and PZ Synth in my current cars.
