Getting ready to turn in my 2017 F150 XL 4x4, this one has the 3.5L V6 non-turbo duratec engine. Has 45K miles and has been and still is a good truck to drive...smooth....4x4 system works great. Always turned it in for service with the MM came on. Found out it will be going to the GSA auction and thinking about putting in a bid for it. It has 3 factory recalls and sent to the local Ford dealer here in Lawton....but, they said there is no fix available as per Ford...weird...not throwing codes or lights. Runs great...I was surprised it was a V6 when I popped the hood looking at it. Engine has no oil leaks or leaks of any kind. Thinking with that factory recall that can't be addressed, probably won't get many bidders on it and maybe get it for a good cost. However, after researching....it has that dreaded internal water pump that I've been reading about and what all that can happen if it lets loose. It won't necessarily release through the weep hole if the bearings start wearing out....then just start dumping into the oil sump. Well....is this a non brainer and don't even bid on it? From what all I've read, it's a pretty good engine except for that issue. It rides smooth and pretty comfortable.

I bought my F-250 about 6 weeks ago from a local construction supplier company who listed it on an auction site. When I arrived to pick it up, the gentleman complained loudly that he (and others) didn't know about the auction until it was too late. They have an in house maintenance crew and did everything except tires and inspections. I didn't know until I had arrived that I had got a scorching deal. I'd jump on it even if it goes a little above what you think the value is. Good luck.
