Hello every1! im new here and havent got the opportunity to read all those good info so heres my questions.

What brand of oil is grp 3? (for auto-rx treatments)
its for a 95 suburban, 96 3/4 ton Silverado, 95 saturn SL2 with a 98 motor in it and lastly an Nissan Sentra.

What would be the best oil to use for above autos all season and good mpg? I never knew oil does affect mpg til some time ago(short).
Ive been using Mobil 1 clean 5k 10w-30 in the saturn 2 oci so far.

Thanks fellas!

Pennzoil Platinum is great group III oil.

As for all season and good mpg, I would say Havoline deposit shield if you want to use a dino oil.

I'm using Castrol Syntec for my Accord and love it. Syntec is not highly regarded here but from my own experience it makes my car feel great. I would say Pennzoil Plantium is a very close 2nd.

I have used royal purple before and it close to the performanc of the syntec but at double the costs. I am not impressed by Mobil 1.

Around here, even the good old fashioned yellow bottle Pennzoil has had some great UOAs. I wouldn't hesitate to use it or Castrol GTX. I get Platinum for cheap at Wal Mart, so I just use that.

Well, technically group III is synthetic oil, so that would eliminate Pennzoil Platinum for your Auto-rx. Use the Pennzoil in the yellow bottle, like others said.

When I asked Frank what to use between Mobil Clean 5000, Quaker State and Havoline DS, he told me to use the Havoline DS, for what that's worth.

Just the plain Pennzoil oil? wow thanks every1!! This site is mind blowing!! For teh win!

Forgot to ask, what weight should i use? I originally thought that 10w-30 was better than 5w-30 or 20 for lubrication. i see 4k rpm once awhile and 6krpm once a blue moon. Mainly below 3.3kish rpm.

It is my understanding that the 10w30 is less likely to shear than the 5w30 as there is less vii. Most say that 5w30 and now 5w20 is good for year round use, although some are having a hard time accepting that a 5w20 will protect in the high temps (90's-100 degrees)

Frank has said that Pennzoil Platinum(and other Group III Syns) is an excellent choice for Auto-Rx, especially for those of us with turbos or high performance applications. This info is all over the Oil Additive forum.

Mobil 1 is a great choice. If you can get it at Wal-Mart in the jugs cheap, get it. You'll hear a lot of opinions here, but in reality as long as it's a good quality oil and your not going crazy with the OCI's any oil will work. The weight seems to be a different issue. I always stick with the Manufacturers recomendations.

Yep, if you want to use a group III synth with arx, use it. Almost every synth oil you can find in the stores today with the exception of Mobil1 (maybe, according to some

) is a group III synth. Frank's said multiple times that he's fine with group III. But, if you don't NEED synth, go with a simple dino.
