Knocked off the biggest rust fuzz with a 4.5" angle grinder and cup shaped wire wheel. Yeah I didn't get everything but I got the loose stuff. Rustoleum super glossy brushed on for paint. Went right over the valve stems and weights.

Ain't perfect but will look good from 20 feet away.

I need to do that with my rims. I'm just paranoid about the paint falling off days later. Looks nice though! Definitely better then the cancer it had.

They've had occasional bouts of being stored horizontally one stacked on another in my basement, being put away wet & potentially even salty.

Though I do try and go through enough of the spring on my snows that I hit some puddles and rinse stuff off.

I run plastic wheel covers... sometimes. On the fence on if it just traps moisture in the middle. They do help my lug nuts, have little plastic lugs that cover the ends and the threads.

If you use flat black, you can spray the tires too. It looks good. I did it on the 'rolla and threw on some nice looking hubcaps that I got for $13 at KMart!

^ haha no!

My hubcaps, if I use them, do let you peek at the rims beneath. This will fool anyone!

JMO but hopefully the gloss paint repels water better. Maybe I should throw some turtle wax on.
