I suggest you avoid flashlights with CR123 lithium batterie,
and get one with three AA instead…
They gave me a very nice $300 flashlight when I went to the sandbox, burned through the batteries in less than 20 minutes, got very hot, and replacement batteries were unavailable, can’t be flown as cargo on aircraft…
My AA Maglight worked just fine, you can use an LED in place of a bulb,
I had several with matching color bodies, UV was purple, red was red, white was silver, etc…

Ive been browsing 21700 compatible chargers. I have an old nitecore i4v2 but it does not accept 21700s, and has no mah counter.
I've no desire to go back to disposable alkaline batteries. Nor nimh eneloops.
My one pitiful AAA headlamp now has a 18650 holder attached.
Since I dont have amazon prime anymore, my 9$ Peetpens have not even shipped yet, several days after ordering.
Yeah, I'd order batteries directly from Aliexpress. The Liitokala ones seem decent. I try to order from the store with the most orders although the ones with slightly less tend to be a little cheaper. Got some 3400mah from them a while ago and according to my charger, they were all in the 3300-3500mah range so they were real stated mah rating. If you find them cheaper, they're probably fake.
Yeah, I've got plenty of good brand name cells. I just tested that one out of curiosity before dumping it.
I just get them at aliexpress. They take a while to ship, but they're real and they're more money if you try to buy them in the US. Make sure you have a charger that will tell you what the mah rating of the battery is. I tested all the ones I got and they were in that 3400 mah range as stated.

I got mine yesterday and it looks good.
But I'm having a problem cycling thru the different modes.
I just want it to stay on high all the time.
How do you do that?
You shouldn't need to do anything for it to stay on the last used mode. Just make sure you do not turn it back on too quickly after turning off.

Wow that place is a lot more than aliexpress. I checked and I bought my 3400 mah batteries over 2 years. Still good and I paid a tad under $2.50 a battery with free shipping. It's gone up a little since then.
Yes, buying from a reputable vendor in US will always be more expensive. If you can find a reputable vendor in China and don't mind the wait, you'll definitely save money that way.
They are reputable when they have a few thousand orders. I wouldn't order from the ones that just have a few. Also Aliexpress is decent when it comes to coverage on sales. I did get a bad flashlight once and settled the dispute, wasn't super happy with it, but at least they had something. I had planned to challenge the sale/leave negative feedback if they weren't in the 3400 mah range as stated, but they were so it they were fine. It's trust, but verify. I wouldn't buy them if you didn't have a charger that could tell you what the mah rating was. Back in the day I used to buy those no name 18650 ones that claimed to be 2000-3000 mah, but since I got the charger, those were fakes and really only in the 1000 mah range.
Well they have the delivery date as March 28th. If you're not in a rush, it's about 3 weeks more than normal which is normally about 6 weeks. I've ordered in the past and they've always said wait 4-6 weeks, I usually got my stuff in 3-4 weeks although what normally happens is that you hear nothing for 2 weeks then it ships and when it finally shows up in the US, it takes another week to get it. In this case, they sit on your order for over 2 weeks before doing anything so probably at least 6-8 weeks. I'd rather get good ones though. Those are supposed to be NCR/Panasonics made in Japan which makes some of the best 18650's out there.
I've ordered quite a few things over the years from Ali, Banggood, and Gearbest. For the most part, there were no issues.
I would typically buy li-ion cells just a couple at a time, so the savings of buying from China vs US weren't that meaningful to me.
Yeah, I'd get 2-4 at a time from various places. But I got tired of them only lasting a couple of years and not having the stated mah rating. We'll see how long these actually last, still fine after 2 years so far.
I am looking for the button top ones aka from the 1st link. Those have great reviews but no current is listed. Are they at least 15Amps?
What are you using them in? I used them in my flashlights all the time. They're rated for 3400 milliamp hours. Specs says they're 4.85 for continuous discharge amps. Most flashlights don't do more than 18 watts so these should be fine for that. I guess if you want them for vaping, there are other ones out there that go up to 15-20 amps but they're usually not button top and they have a lower total mah rating. Your 15 amps would be for something over 50 watts.
