This is just like McDonald's tea...
I use a sealed glass 64 ounce pitcher and 5 tea bags as they are the small size.
I use filtered cold water and let the tea bags set in the refrigerator for 1 hour

and that's it. A cold brew....

Great taste unsweetened

Cold brew iced tea has been a thing for me for a few years. I use regular tea bags, 8-10 of them for a two quart pitcher. Since regular tea bags don't steep quickly like specialized "iced tea" or "cold brew" bags I let them steep for around 24 hours and then fish out the tea bags. I add 1/2 tsp of monkfruit/stevia liquid sweetener. I like it a little sweet, but not southern sweet tea sweet. I've tried a bunch of different types of tea and often use a couple different types of teas for experimental blends. Oolong and jasmine teas from local Asian markets make for interesting iced tea. The possibilities are endless!

Grandmother kept pitchers of the stuff (cane sugar though) in her house all the time. Us kids would run all over the place hopped up on the caffeine/sugar for hours. The entire family used to down it all day on Holidays at her house. Everyone joked that she made what was knows as "The Formula!" I make mine today very similar to you. No sugar added or needed for me these days. Black + Green tea supposed to be very good for folks.

I have a small container of that Monk fruit in the kitchen and have not even tried it yet. I normally rather go unsweet with things than use those artificial sweeteners.

Mine is very simple: Three of the large Luzienne Teabags in my Mr. Coffee Iced tea maker, set up for 3 quarts.
No sweetener of any kind.
Served with a fresh lemon slice (and crushed ice) in my 32 ounce Bubba mug.
Enjoying some right now as I type this.

What is the benefit of a cold steep? I always did it hot, let cool then throw in the fridge.

To me heat makes the tea bitter which kills the taste for cold tea and what @DBMaster noted plus it's ready to go sooner.
I love tea, un-sweet. I'm going to have to try this cold steep method!

I found some "cold brew" Lipton Black Tea bags in Wal Mart yesterday. Used (2) of those family sized and one green tea with mint to seep in the fridge over last night. Got up this morning. I drained the tea, tossed the bags and warmed a cup and it was real good. Gonna drink it iced later on today. Glad the idea was brought up by Zee09. I had forgotten how good cold brew tea can be.

I like the family size Lipton too 👍
