GM has ruined the looks of the new Corvette so bad I now like the Camaro better

A buddy of mine ( car collector ) and I were driving just a few weeks ago. Both at same time went "what in the heck kin cars is that? Turned out once we were close enough.... a new Corvette! thought it was some really fancy expensive foreign race car. LOL It really did look like it belonged on the race track someplace. Seemed so low I would be scared to tear the bottom out on the streets.

Okay Camaro Haters do you dislike this one to ?

Too bad GM put such money and resources into the Corvette. Imagine if they put the same money and effort in a vehicle that could truly compete with a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.

The Bob Lutz impact at all of the "Big three" has been catastrophic on the "Big Three's" ability to compete against the Japanese and Korean auto manufacturers.
what is the “Bob Lutz” impact? Lutz is a true car guy and enthusiast.
the Dodge Neon was competitive against the Japanese cars of its time. The PT Cruiser based off the Neon was hugely popular, although the hay have kept it around one or two model years too many.
Lutz also made Pontiac get Reid of the horrible plastic cladding on all their cars.
Lutz green light the Viper at Chrysler, and the Pontiac Solstice and Holden based GTO at GM.

Bob Lutz was always about the product.

I agree - anytime I see one, it makes me turn my head to get a good look at it. I'm never sure is it a Corvette, an Acura NSX, a McLaren, etc.

That's my problem with the new Vette... There should be NO mistaking a Vette from the other supercar clones. Back in the day... most everyone knew a Vette when they saw one.

It is the only Corvette I think did NOT scream old man besides the original. The balance all nearly looked the same slowly morphing over the years.

Love it. No gold chains required or leather coats.
There aren't many expensive sports car that don't scream old men...because they're the only people who can afford them...

Funny, I finally saw a new one from behind on a recent drive, it was a convertible.

This is the first 'Vette that I really like the looks of. maybe because it has design cues from Lotus and McLaren. That said, the rear window on the convertible looks awkward when the top is up; an odd small rectangle between two huge buttresses, really looks like an afterthought. I didn't realize it was a retractable hard top at the time.

Then I thought, who cares 1) the rest of the car looks great and 2) it looks great with the top down.

Id Luv a big block Camaro if I could just see out the windows of "The Thing". No Visibility. No interest in a 'Vette,

Because the C8 is a beautiful car followed by the C3 and the C2 and the other vettes fall pitifully behind? Interesting (but wrong) take on things.
I agree with you on the C2 and C3 (chrome bumper C3s only), but I don't agree with your assessment of the C8 (which I think is hideous looking), and I also think the C5 is a gorgeous car...

pro-tip: you can not agree with someone and not call them tasteless. ;)

the c5 is an extremely boring car...shouldn't even be called a corvette
