Gigafactory Texas expansion

You cannot for a minute believe he won’t sell out any chance he gets. He is not spending his own money. If he was investing in building better cars, I would think he stands a chance. Trying to compete against low wage countries with a low end product built in the USA is folly.
Musk invested his own money, what he made at PayPal, in the Fremont plant. He was nearly broke in 2018 due to mfg line automation breakdowns.

I have driven Teslas and will never own one unless they upscale their interiors. They continue to build capacity when they should be working on quality. The Chinese will waste Tesla at the low end, and in China they already are. The Germans learned this decades ago.
You’re getting different things in both. Now try the cost of Audi’s EV. That one would be an empty parking space at this price point. I’ll buy a base Tesla. I did in fact. I’m not buying a base Audi. If I’m buying an Audi I’m buying something faster. To be fair if I bought a Tesla for my daily it would be the Performance. I’m not much on base anything usually.

Tesla never claimed to be like other car companies. Leaders do not follow. Tesla is worth what, more than the next 10 car companies combined? And they achieved this in about 20 years.

You are free to buy what you want. That Tesla dash you posted belongs to the #1 selling car in the world.

You like something different, whoopedeedoo. No need to bash something else, especially when your argument makes no sense.

When compared to a real car tesla are not very appealing. We can only hope they go down the drain once this agenda driven craze comes to an end.

How does it not make sense? 40k car vs 40k car?
You posted McDonalds, which is a low margin, high volume product.
Model Y is a high margin, high volume product.

The #1 selling car by quantity in the world has been dominated by the Corolla, which is a low margin, high volume car.
To be beat out by a high margin (expensive) car is quite a feat.

By the way, the Model Y has been the #1 selling vehicle by revenue for a couple years.
You may not like it, and that's fine. But a lot of other people do.

Perhaps it may not fit some person's narrative, but Tom Zhu may be a citizen of New Zealand.
From CNN:
He was born in China and CNN was not able to confirm if he still holds Chinese citizenship. According to his social media profile, he acquired a bachelor's degree from the Auckland University of Technology in 2004 and an MBA degree from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Tesla, like all major car companies, is a multinational company.
The cars they sell in America are the most "Made in America" of any brand.
Wake up JK. You don't give up chicom citizenship, leave and move back to work for a foreign company in china, you must be pretty naive if you believe that?

Probably because Profits>Nationalism. He likely hires based on performance and not this virtue signal BS.
Far from virtue signalling, keeping chicoms out of USA manufacturing in the USA is the right thing to do.

Ah, yes. The proverbial sour grapes.

I on the other hand hope Tesla improves. I may consider one for my next EV if they can match my Kia or exceed it at a +-15k price point.

Ok now try their EV, like I said. Their cost went into the chassis. Audi spent more on their interior. Don’t get me wrong, I love VW/Audi. I’d rather have an ICE VAG product than one of their EVs. I have a VW. If I’m buying an EV at this point it’ll be a Tesla. They’re so different that I love and have both essentially. You really couldn’t have compared two better options that I like both of, but if I was buying I’d be between an S3 and a Model 3 Performance. I don’t know what I’d buy. I’d have to go RS3 to match the performance of the Model 3 Performance, but it would be close to $20k more out the door for the RS3.

Well, then go apply for the job, yeah?

Haha, real car…

I know it’s imaginary! I still can’t figure out how it got me to the store though…

I do not care what the company does, nor how much they make. I only care what I get for my money. The model Y is a low end high price car. Again let’s look. What would you rather sit behind for 8 hours or 10 hours in a Tesla because you’ll have to recharge twice.
48k Tesla yawn.

Mmm 48k Audi.

Ok so buy the one you like and stop crying about it here. Does it bother you that enough like the Tesla to buy it? I’d argue the best garage is both. I’m just torn between replacing my GTI with a Golf R or S3/RS3. I can’t get a manual in the Audis though.

Maybe you haven’t driven a Model 3 performance. The chassis is dog excrement. Just watch any Model 3 driving down the road and wonder what the heck is going with all the bouncing.
