New Mexico State Police and Texas Highway Patrolmen at the state line on I-10 near Anthony, New Mexico (date unknown).

Uniforms have changed quite a bit. So, have the handguns, from revolvers to pistols. Good to see the glass bottles instead of plastic or aluminum containers. Likely cane sugar instead of corn syrup. Bike must be a Harley Davidson. Uniforms are pressed, assume mighty hot wearing all of that.

The cops today have a rough job but it's nice to see clean shaven, reasonably in shape cops. I don't want to criticize todays cops because that job is impossible but a lot of guys don't have a good appearance.

If an officer was left-handed, would the cross strap (which holds the weight of the pistol) be allowed to cross to the other shoulder?

I think that picture was posed. All drinking Cokes from the 6 oz. classic greens. I think Santa's contract was up in 1946, so likely then.
