Agreed. A vow is just that. They are more than just words.

If you cannot trust someone then you cannot build a future together.

My ex never spent a night alone, moved straight from my bed to another. Definitely ruins your day if you were a committed partner!

Got to find a way to get over it and move on. Your life exists in front of you, GOOD LUCK!

UPDATE:

She's petitioning the papers. Everything with our kid is laid out in 50/50 because that's what's best for his well being as he grows up. She doesn't like it because "I don't want him staying with you for extended periods of time because it messes up his schedule"

If she was truly interested in his schedule, she wouldn't be having an affair.

Believe nothing that comes from the mouth of an unfaithful spouse. Action means everything, words mean nothing. I am so sorry you are going through this. I would not wish an unfaithful spouse or divorce upon my worse enemy.

Separation, divorce and custody rules vary from state to state. However, most states have 'no-fault' divorce, which means that an unfaithful spouse is immaterial, at least in the eyes of the law. So get over it...

Now, if her 'extracirricular activities' are so extensive that she's neglecting her parenting responsibilities, that's different.

You'd be best to concentrate on moving forward, rather than the 'drama' of the situation, which means:

1. suitable custody arrangements;
2. division of assets;
3. not giving all your cash to the lawyer.

If you are splitting custody 50/50, make sure that the custody agreement limits both parents to staying in a specified geographic area. If she get a job in another city, it shouldn't be you that loses custody because of her moving away for work.

Again, different states, different rules. Lawyers, the internet, and support groups can help you figure out what is applicable to you...

If she is military, you may be able to make a strong case that you are the primary custodian since she has a good chance of being re-assigned or deployed.

Any custody arrangement should stipulate that it's in the best interest of the child to have a stable home and being moved every time mom gets orders does not promote stability.

send her an email that you need to see "our" son as soon as possible, consult your atty.
make a daily log, email her daily and keep it in an excel of request to see "our" son and the outcome
