Ok, so if I use ATF which is best. Here are my choices of what is in stock:

1. Toyota T-IV
2. Toyota WS
3. Honda DW1

For gear oil I have:

1. Mobil 1 75w90
2. Valvoline 80w 90

Use salad oil and you'll smell like the Olive Garden.

Yeah true....but after my workout at the gym it might be an improvement......plus a good 75w90 is like pheromones to hot female mechanics

BTW, I sent the Mobil 1 tech support people an email today asking if their 75w90 would harm polymer gun frames or metal finishes.

I will post the answer

You won't get a yes or no
They will indicate there is no way of knowing the exact polimer composition. But seriously it comes in a plastic bottle and lubricates metal parts.

Just because it comes in a polymer bottle doesn't mean much. The polymer bottle is likely made with the product in mind.

Hello Doog

Due to a potential ‘Yes’ to both questions,(harm to polymer or metal finishes) plus other reasons, we do not recommend this oil (or any of our oils) for firearm lubrications.

What a surprise. Certainly understandable..lol

Help financially support the Gun Oil companies. Buy a gun oil for your firearm, not a motor oil, gear oil or transmission fluid for your firearm.

I care far more about my economy, than I do theirs.

That stuff is not cheap Bill.

It's an emotional purchase, and one based off of his singular experience with a sticky bolt(s) on some rifle(s). Fact is, pretty much any oil "will work", and most purchases like this (except one's made by organizations with parameters such as MSDS, disposal, flight requirements, etc.) are based on low-number samples and emotion.

Sorry, try again. I didn't purchase anything. For me it couldn't have been any cheaper. George Fennel sent me mine free. Both the CLP oil, and the Lithium Grease. And for what it's worth, you've got it all backwards. (Nothing new there). I had the sticky bolt situation AFTER I had the Weapon Shield. I just decided to try it, along with a few other lubes, that's all. The Weapon Shield did the trick. The others, not so much. Got it now?

Fennell sent me a ton of stuff, too. A quart of the oil/CLP, few syringes, etc. It's good stuff.

I get all mine free too....lol
Say whatever to cover your butt, for you are good at it. There are two sides to all our mouths. After-all this is the internet and we aren't accountable here really.

Any oil you use will end up on your skin form handling. You're better off with an FDA-approved oil/grease like Superlube.

Unless you're immune from cancer.

And also never go outside into the sunlight or eat processed meat because those things are carcinogenic too.

Seriously, a little gear oil on your hands isn't going to cause cancer.
