I was able to buy a whole half tank of fuel for $40 at $3.87 per gallon. Not no more.
$2.96 this morning at WMass Costco. Not so very different.$2.89 right now here in eastern SD.
Not sure I follow... I am not attempting to veil anything.Interesting commentary with the thread title...
Pretty thinly vailed Jeff.
And we drive a lot... What you may be missing is, you make more money here. Economics teaches us market prices will tend to rise until consumption falls to an unacceptable level. The only real way to reduce prices is when an acceptable alternative enters the market. It's sad that some people can't display simple courtesy, or rather can't keep themselves from being so blatantly rude and obnoxious.
Wow! I don't know how folks can stand gas prices in CA. The worst I've seen here in my hometown was $3.59 just two days ago. Yesterday it went to $3.39 and tonight, several stations dropped to $3.29 and the BP went to 3.19. We were at about $2.49 before the war.
I saw Brent Crude today at $85 a barrel, so not surprising it's starting to come down. The only surprise is that it is coming down that quickly. Usually they go way up quickly but are very slow to come down.
Did WA just raise gas taxes?I like those who jump in front of me when I'm just about finished pumping. Talk about jerk moveI'm sure somebody will say they have the right.
I had a lady do it on me one day. I was just finished pumping and she pulled in front of me. Then parked so far away from the pump I was now locked in. I verbalized that she was now blocking me in, she said she would move. I was able to get around. I can be impatient at times. But come on...... I'm fairly quick pumping, and usually only put in less than 8 gallons when filling.
We are at about $4.05-4.40 per gallon. Thanks Washington state gas taxes.....
Another fuel price thread!
Let's just say the guy's language contained plenty of Fighting words from the start. His demeanor was extremely threatening. People were scared which is why I tried to diffuse the situation. It was not looking good...Not sure what the interaction has to do with gas prices, but the guy that called out the selfish behavior of the truck driver is good in my book.
I wasn’t there to see how it escalated afterwards, so I can’t comment on that.
I went to Costco on Coleman near SJC one hour ago. Roundabout. Empty. No confrontations to be had. $4.79/gal 87octane. Top Tier. YMMV.Took the GS out to gas up; it didn't need too much but I figured I'd make sure it was ready if wifey needed it. There is one station, Moe's Stop, that is cheaper than Costco. currently right now $4.78 for rag and $5.09 for wannabe 91 premium. Crazy, I know. Costco was $5.36 for premium. As you might guess, this station does a lot of business.
So one guy had backed his Silverado to an end pump which blocked the entire side of 3 pumps. A number of customers were waiting... As I was finishing my measly 7 gallons, another "gentleman" said to the Silverado, "You're old enough to know how to drive through this station and not block others." I am leaving out the other words. As the words and voices began to escalate back and forth, I put my hands out and said, "Stop you two; it ain't worth it." I got a few choice words myself... Ha! Luckily the Silverado was gone before the other hothead came out from paying. A number of the other customers, and I, were glad it was over.
These prices can quickly put us all on edge. Please be careful out there and keep a cool head. It ain't worth it.
It's not easy to just pick up and leave. I'd love to leave California, work, kids, family, low interest home are all here. Paid $5.29 for 91 octane yesterday. It is what it is. It is only going to get worse in this state with new regulations/ taxes comingIt's sad that some people can't display simple courtesy, or rather can't keep themselves from being so blatantly rude and obnoxious.

I think the Moe's Stop station in my thread may be the only station under $5 for rag as of today. Ouch...Fuel went up $0.30 more today
