I just recently heard about the FS-2500 Bypass Filter & watched their video, which, was very impressive. However, I'm not an "expert" in Bypass Filtration.

Could those of you familiar with the FS-2500 & the other systems available, give us a "comparison" of how well this unit works compared to the others on the market?

Filtration Solutions "video", advertising their FS-2500, makes a very compelling argument in favor of their product. Compared to the most popular Fleetguard Bypass Filter & an Amsoil EB-100(?), the FS-2500 really worked well. It didn't "appear" that they used any "smoke & mirrors" in this test, either. However, the product is somewhat pricey ($459.00 & the replacement cartridges are $22.95).

I'm just curious what those of you with much more experience in bypass filtration, than me, think of this product? Is it that much better than other products available. This would be for an '03 Dodge/Cummins.

Thank You.

I have an fs-2500 and I am not sure I am happy this filter. I light of the new filters Amsoil have released. I am sure of one thing I will be removing my filter so if any one wants it speak up other wise I am sending it back.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this..from Amsoil web site [quote:Extensive testing shows that AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters achieve a near-perfect absolute efficiency rating. The exclusive new technology used in AMSOIL EaO Filters provides filtering efficiency to 98.7 percent at 15 microns. EaO Filters are the most efficient filters that are available for auto/light trucks.]

So what is the big deal about 15 microns? SAE said that the most damaging particles were 2-22 microns. Just kinda puzzling at first glance. Somebody help me with this....:>)

The FS-2500 is supposed to filter down to 2.78 microns ABSOLUTE @ 99%. I've read that damage can occur in the 4-7 micron range so, getting under that level is probably a good thing.

Carpenter58: What don't you like about the FS-2500? What vehicle does it fit & how much do you want for it?

It was very easy to install & very easy to change. My oil looks very sooty I think the looks of the oil after 12,000 miles is to dirty. The last sample also indicated this. When I used an Amsoil OEM filter the oil looked and sampled longer.
I am using it on a 2003 7.3 PSD FS said they would buy it back from me I paid $280 with out a filter I think?
