Good afternoon everyone. My daughter's CRV is needing rotors/pads. Went to the Honda dealer and they want $94ea for the rotors. $60 for the pads, which are ceramic. A few people I've asked said go for the Honda pads. I'm thinking I'll get Centric rotors (#12040026) from Rock Auto. $61 Pr. I'm a little bit undecided about the pads. RA has the PowerStop Evolution ceramic pads(16-503)for about $21. $97 Total w/discount code/shipping included. Has anyone had experience/opinions on this combination? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

I have used Centric Pads and Rotors on my Honda's and would recomend them.
Just went through the same process on the oddy. I bought Centric premium rotors and Akebono ProAct pads and that combo works great! Definitely get the centric PREMIUM rotors, not the cheaper ones.

You might be able to find the price a little better online but their products are good. If you email and ask for their recommendations they never say a ceramic pad. If you read their FAQ they answer why.

I currently have the Centric Premium Rotors(Black E-coating) on our Mazda3 with the Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic Pads. They're a very good combo but, the pads have a lot of BLACK dust. I'd consider either Raybestos Professional Grade Ceramic or(my personal favorite), the Akebono ProACT Ceramic. Along with either the Centric Premium Rotors or another choice is the Raybestos Pro Grade Rotors(w/Black painted hats).
Centric Premium with e Coating + Wearever Platinum or Akebono ProActs are the way to go.
The Akebonos are more expensive, since you can use coupon codes at AAP for Wearevers.

I have Akebono brake pads and love them on my 03 CRV. I use the Akebono ASP pads which are more expensive than the regular Akebono pads but, I believe, are the best.
I used AEM brake pads on mom's 1999 CRV and they were perfect. The OEM rotors were machined at that time. They source them from Nissen, a brake parts company that works closely with Honda.

Thanks for all your replies! Just used an Advanced Auto code for $50 off $125 (+free shipping) and ordered the Akebono ProAct pads along w/other items needed for the cars. (the Akebono pads came to $42) Will order the Centric Premium rotors from Rock Auto. Thanks again, Bill.
