Free lifetime oil change. FCP Euro.

Does anyone know if the store credit expires?
They don't expire, however, the replacement parts will generally get more expensive over time. You do have to pay any difference, but if order/return a good bit of LRG, it makes it more palatable since your credits are usually higher than the one item you order. Eventually the "float" will run out, but hey, you got a lot of stuff basically free during that time. ECS saw the model working ;).

Good video showing and explaining the process. Using 0W20 and autocrosses/tracks occasionally so I'm sure peoples heads will blow off.

Kinda bringing this back from the dead but am curious.

I live 2 miles from FCP's headquarters. Can I just bring back my oil instead of shipping it? Would make this whole gig a no-brainer IMHO :)

Interesting. I bet you could. Email them and let us know what they say!

I live 9 miles away and return oil and filters it whenever I do a service.

I haven’t bought oil or filters in years. It’s a beautiful thing. 🙂

Latest ship-back for refund/store credit under the LRG. About $350 worth here for $21.16 shipping from VA to CT (26 pound box) using UPS and pirateship. Print label, tape on, drop off, no questions/no drama. This will fund my next round of services which won't quite use that credit up (DSG and auto trans services on 2 of the VWs this winter). 1 oil change kit (1 5l/1 1l), 2 oil filters, 5 containers of various brake fluids, 1 cabin air filter, 1 PCV valve. I always make sure the liquids are secure/not leaking then pack in a HD plastic bag that I ziptie the top of. Filters (and here the PCV) go in individual ziplocks (double-bagged). Add in the return paperwork (make sure it's filled out correctly or they will deny it!), and send it. I have a few more bottles of Motul brake fluid to send back when I use them in a few mos. so that's $40 more.

Volvo 240 utility belts, timing belt, ECT, intake manifold gasket, AT filter kit as shown. Not shown: timing belt tensioner, water pump, oxygen sensor.

$242 credited to my account. 🙂

Can anybody explain why FCP Euro would continue sending replacement oil after you buy the first one? Doesn't sound like a good 'business model' for them.

19 pages here where this touched on multiple times...but here it is again:

I buy my oil/parts and have to send it back to get a refunded store credit. Hurtle one. PITA. Most folks simply don't do it even if they intend do/get into this thinking it's great/will do it. Same with rebates.

While I'm there buying my oil kit, oh, I'll grab XYZ.

Most of it will never be returned b/c folks don't own the car long enough, remember what they bought, keep records, etc. see item 1 above.

It's a brilliant marketing gimmick and for me, I take full advantage of it but for most, they never bother b/c it sounds better than it is for most.

They're also buying marketing via brand evangelists. All those people who aren't returning oil are still hearing from people who are.

Case in point: this thread. And... basically every conversation I have with everyone. 😬

100%. Ask me where I get my stuff. FCP Euro! LRG! Those people then buy stuff from FCP and see my post above why they don't necesarily have any pay outs on LRG for it. I will say, something has changed at FCP in the last year...sloppy packing, lots of goofed orders from folks I know, drop shipping from third party vendors that don't arrive on time....this could be on the downslope now.....

I have had v. good dealings with them over the last 5 years with only a few hiccups that were sorted out by customer service. I will continue to use them for my maintenance/repair items for my VW fleet.

Release the Kraken!

The thread lives on!

I guess I'll have to post my outgoing oil change. Was going to do it today but got sidetracked with a 3rd-party Amazon return.
