I had this happen to me once in trade school many years ago, it never happened again. I wont happen to you again either, lesson learned.

No it wasn't. He asked a question to his peers. His peers all have the right to respond. All of them. How do you know how many times he needs to hear something before he realizes it was his 'mea culpa'. By his, and I am wrong in assuming he is a male,(and I'll accept that), his opening statement lays blame to others, in this case Fram filter. Fram Ultra filters.
The OP should accept that he made the error, accept that it was his learning experience. If he came forward and was willing share what happened to him so others can learn, and others might not have corrected him. But he only wants to ask others if this happen to them and get confirmation, as if it was someone else fault. That is why once was not enough. Really.

Yes, normal. I usually remove it and rub my finger in oil and spread thin coat of oil on both sides of gasket and press it back on the filter prior to install. And clean the block with a rag.

A co-worker had the exact same thing happen to him, but he didn't catch it and ran the car with the double gasket. His oil light came on and he tried driving home to inspect. Needless to say he blew the motor. The car was an Acura CL.
As everyone else mentions you won't ever let this happen again.

I would say so, I don't use WIX but every new filter seems to have some degree of loose in the gasket. Even factory filters with a P gasket the gasket will move, though it is captive.

Happened to me years ago with a purolator. double gasket barf of oil all over the driveway. Rookie mistake was I cleaned, but didn't lube the new gasket with oil. Thats how it happens. Gotta lube the gasket or it sticks when it gets hot.

Fram was about 1/3 of my filters and about 2/3 of my stuck gaskets (oiled, seat, 3/4) ...

This thread would have been unnecessary if the OP would have just taken his car to Iffy Lube
Use a Denso oil filter and you won't have that problem.
