I agree. When you look at all the oil changes done by franchise oil changers, independents mechanics, Walmarts, Sears, etc.,etc., and in almost all cases the cheapest filter is used without any obvious ill effects, it seems to be what you mentioned above to look at holes or other characteristics of an oil filters and then come on BITOG and write how it's the end of the world because in your humble opinion your not looking at "good holes".
