I'm going to do an oil change here soon on my wife's 2017 CR-V 1.5L Turbo. I've used Fram Ultra's for a majority of the changes but looking to try something else for a change and fun. Something that might get similar respect on the forum. I was thinking maybe the PurolatorBOSS or the Fram Titanium, but open to suggestions.

Thanks.

In the 99% at 20micron range, the closest competitors would be a Royal Purple and AC Delco Ultraguard Gold.

PurolatorBoss's fall off pretty heavily to ~65% at 20microns because they're intended to be extended drain filters, as per Ascent Filtration Testing's results.

I would actually point you in the direction of a PurolatorOne if you want to dabble in the that brand for your intended interval. The PureOnes are intended to be 99% at 20 microns

As Zee mentioned, the Titanium is equivalent to the Ultra, just branded specifically for Advance Auto.

I'd just stick with the Ultra/Titanium, Mann-Hummel doesn't seem to care about quality anymore, I'd been apt to recommend Fram Ultras and Regular Wix filters, but Mann-Hummel has aparently started inter-mixing Purolator and Wix production lines now, and someone recently got a Wix with good ol' Purolator build quality issues, their were left over shavings in the threads on the tapping plate and nasty burrs visible on the inside of the inlet holes.

Yep, Fram Titanium = Fram Ultra, except available exclusively at advance auto. So, this would be an excellent option still.
Mobil 1 claims 99+% at 30microns, i'd pass.
Boss pass. PureOne Maybe.
Std. Wix / Napa Gold I believe is 95% at 20micron so that would be prefferred over Wix XP/Napa Platinum which is not as good.

What’s wrong with Wix XP and NAPA Platinum?

They have relatively poor filtration efficiency.
They used to publish beta ratios for it, but stopped because it appeared to be worse than the std. wix filter.
And the testing in the linked post confirms that:

Titanium.

M1 changed manufacturers - not impressed in the least
WIX/NAPA in process of changing manufacture - not impressed in the least... not that I ever really was.
Boss - Id rather overpay for a FRAM (Titanium) than overpay for a Purolator+Mann+Hummel (boss)

If you want to be different just put an A02 on it.

I've cut a rather wide selection of "Honda" filters, check them out just go post I started.

Thanks for the link. Somehow, I missed that thread.

You could always just leave the Ultra filter on for another round, just for fun (unless you already have 15k+ on the filter).

Fram Ultra, Titanium, and FPS are all basically the same filter.
As mentioned, the only other filters that are really similar (synthetic, mesh backed media, similar filtration) would be the Amsoil or Royal Purple filters (not sure if they have changed in the past few years).

The Boss and Platinum are both synthetic, mesh backed filters, but filtration is not as good as the Ultra.
Is the need for that fine of filtration needed? That is the big debate.

I personally am not worried a whole lot about specific filtering numbers, and have no issue with using almost any filter, including regular Supertech, any Fram (PH, TG, XG), Wix/Napa (regular or Platinum) and many other filters.

If using the Fram Titanium, take advantage of the oil change specials that AAP offer. Probably the only way I would use a Titanium over an Ultra. Just for fun😁
Unless you can get them to match the price to that of an Ultra somewhere else, isn't there some price match policy about equivalent parts, you might be able to convince someone at the store to do it, although it's probably an exercise in futility and if it doesn't work you probably won't ever want to go in the store again.
