I did, and I barely saw the wire backing through the louvers. I can crawl under my truck later to get the date code, currently at the Toyota dealer with my wife's car
Same date code. 23129AF. Somehow got lucky enough to buy a filter made the same day as the last one lol

i don’t fully believe this is an endurance. not the same ADBV and a metal crimp vs a melted seam in the endurance.

Looks like an OG Ultra or Titanium guts with louvers - pleats look "plump" like wire backed.. Date code looks to be 8 (or 9), 17 22, so built a while ago. It's been shown before that some filter models might look different than the rest in the model line because they may be built by someone else. Amsoil just contracts whoever to make filters for then and labelled as Amsoil filters.

one other thing. the metal mesh i square and not like og wire. pretty sure OP is right here.
Where is that photo from? OP in the black Amsoil C&P thread didn't show the media backing removed on his filter, so don't know what the wire backing looks like on that black Amsoil.

the photo i just posted is from my OG titanium, the wire on OP’s filter is black and square shaped.
Got conversation going on about two different threads and filters. I was referring to the Amsoil filter you mentioned in post 27, which doesn't show what the media backing is. The way oil filters change with time, and often seen where not all models seem to be built the same sometimes (even between Ultra and Titanium), it's not surprising if there's a difference in the backing. Date codes need to be seen also to give more info the build time since build configurations have been changing a lot over time.
That mesh is what my OG Titanium FS5s have. The FS12447 and the Amsoil EAO27 I cut open had the black nylon looking mesh in them.
Hate to necro an old thread, but I just ordered two of these (FS12447) from Advance Auto Parts online, shipped to me and I received two NOS units with the same 23129 date code as the OP's.

How did the louvers look? A went shopping around for some FS12447s a few weeks ago, but they had a date for one day later than my usual 23129s, and the louvers looked like crap.
One has great looking louvers. The other one, half look great and the other half look a bit less than well-formed. Not bad enough to stop me from using it, but enough I would be less than impressed if they were all that way.
I cut open the one with worse louvers. The louvers facing down that you can't see looked great, so I don't see any reason to worry about them.
It's a bit of a mess. Clamped too tight, glue everywhere, some pleats oddly out of place, and I have no idea what this media is. It doesn't look like the Endurance pink synthetic media.

Is it wire backed? Doesn't look like it from the outside.
Yeah, it's wire backed. Some kinda black mesh.
With the wire backing, the pleats won't move around, so if they aren't laser straight or not perfectly spaced then it doesn't really matter.
