Not starting a war nor do I want a bashing thread.

2021 Jeep GC 3.6 81k on unit.

This was from a Valvoline Restore and Protect 5k OCI. The oil change started out with a Fram Ultra that was changed halfway through to this Fram orange box. It was changed just in case there was a lot of cleaning done from the R&P. So there is only about 2,500 miles on this filter.

I’ll post more pictures tomorrow after I buy a new utility knife to cut it open. ( my son doesn’t know where he lost it). I’m hoping the media is all there and there isn’t a piece of it stuck inside the engine somewhere.

oof
@Sayjac just posted a good filter for that engine here recently but having trouble finding the link to the pics?

These seem to crumple up being so tall but once in a while we see a smooth straight one. Was that tear anywhere near the seam?
I’ve been using PG made filters for a while now because they do great. I used Fram this time because I found the Fram Ultra hidden in my stash and this orange box was cheap knowing it would only be used for a very short time. Makes me sick to my stomach. I’ll never use another.

It looks like the tear started right at the seam.

Completely understand that & thanks for the further details. I've said it many years & have been bashed to no end when I state that I'll take a reinforced wire backed Purolator Boss at its efficiency then have this nonsense happen any day of the week. So you put a PG back in?

Thanks for repeating the Boss dribble for the 7000th time.
You'll never see me with one 😁

Yep, a PG made EcoGard Synthetic.

Supertech seems more stout than the current Fram line up. Been using ST in my equipment and daughters Rogue. Done with Fram.

I really like the cartridge Taiwanese Baldwin for my VW....after 10k miles it looks just like it came out of the box and cheap at just a bit over $4 on Rock Auto...
