Ok so I have experimented with a ton of different UCL's and fuels to get the most mileage while at the same time the best UCL lubrication possible.

I have found that using 155ml (Small bottle with screw on cap) of Lucas every complete tank of fuel with Shell 89 Octane (5% Ethanol) fuel works the absolute best for me. I'm achieving 9.5L/100KM consistently as an average. The government rating is 11L/100KM.

Now because Lucas contains virtually no cleaning agents I will be running Amsoil PI every year to keep the system clean in case the top-tier fuel isn't 100% efficient.

Thought I would share.

Hey, Steve

Nice, so the Lucas works best for you. Do you buy it in bulk or the little bottles? Nice savings in fuel! I use TCW3 it works best for me in my 95 Accord and 99 Civic. The 07 Accord absolutely hates TCW3, MMO works the best so far in the 07.

I bought the big bottles of it from Car Quest. (Best price I found)

The TCW3 in any dose either had no effect on mileage from the same mileage without using it or it horribly reduced the mileage. It was one or the other. Never got a gain from the stuff no matter what amount I tried.

Not saying it's bad stuff but it didn't work for me and was more expensive than Lucas which seems to be the sweet stuff for my truck.

That's great. Were you able to get the gallon containers of Lucas? I thought Lucas contained cleaning agents, at least it's advertised as such.

Worst mileage I've gotten was from a tank of gas with the 5.25 of Lucas UCL in it.

Currently have MMO in the tank and the trip meter stabilizes/increases quite easily. I'll have to see what the hand calculated mpg is like when I'm done with this tank.

The Lucas my daughter recently bought has an abstract picture of "dirty" injectors spraying vs. "clean" ones. The Lucas claims it has cleaners...now I just dunno?

Lucas cheaper than TW3? I don't think so?

I've experimented with both (about a month each).
Found no difference in mpg.

Cheaper up here...

They seem to promote it as more of a cleaner than a luber. The bottle says "Injector Cleaners" in big blue or green letters.

A gallon of Lucas about 27.

Then that should make the choice real easy. I'd go with the TCW-3. I never liked anything Lucas made including the UCL. I've tried it, and keep going back to MMO. Save the $17 and use the TCW-3 its better as a UCL than the Lucas and less than half the price, at least in my circle of car enthusiasts.

I am running some TCW-3 through my E-150 now, and have about another half gallon to use up. I want to see how it stacks up against the MMO.

As a side note the RL fuel injector cleaner is the best cleaner I've used to date. I've tried just about every cleaner there is including PI, Regane, Techron and others. RL hands down winner. It has some UCL properties according to Red Line but is primiraly a FI cleaner. You can use it with MMO or TCW-3 if you wanted to.

Wow I paid $6.99/bottle for it from them with free shipping no more than 2 weeks ago. What a rip off that is now! I hope by the time I use up my stash it drops down again!
