My question about the above stated is this. If Formula Shell is a Shell product and they create their own add pack for Pennzoil and Quaker State, then why on earth would Lubrizol make the add pack for Formula Shell? Not that I don't believe you Johnny, but why is that? Doesn't Lubrizol make Valolines add pack as well?
Since you sent me a PM asking the exact same question, I will post my reply to your PM here for all to see.
Lubrizoil makes additive packages for everyone. It all has to do with cost. Shell uses additives from Lubrizoil, Ornite, Infineum, and Afton. All depends on what they are trying to accomplish.
In case you don't know, Ornite is made by Chevron Chemical and Infineum is a 50/50 partnership between Shell and ExxonMobil.
And, just in case you do not think I know what I'm talking about, send a PM to MolaKule and ask him about what I said. He a chemist and tribologist.
Johnny,
Sorry if I sounded accusatory. That was not my intent. This is why I stated in my message that it's not that I don't believe you. Because I do believe you. I was simply inquiring on something that I thought I had heard somewhere else and simply wanted to confirm if that was wrong. I apologize for that.
