Formula One- 2025

Till a couple of hours ago, I was under the impression that Verstappen had won the championship like two races ago. Fun. I can tease my colleague now.

Who knew that a couple of excessively worn skid plates would evolve into all of this with just 2 races to go? You have to give the FIA credit. They look at everything under a microscope. Their attention to technical detail is very impressive.

Well it sure makes the last two races interesting!

I drove the “track” two nights ago. They are still disassembling bleachers, lights etc.
I completely get it why teams complain about track. While Las Vegas roads are really good, those imperfections would be an issue even on regular amateur track.

That video is put in question

Kinda AI lite anyway

Let’s see sprint scrutinering but qual has them 1-3

McLaren really screwed up by not pitting at least one of their cars during the early safety car. Basically handed Max the win today. If Max wins the championship next week then that mistake will be the reason 🤔

This is where everything sits as of right now. 25 points are awarded for 1st place, 18 points for 2nd place, and 15 points for 3rd place. From there if Verstappen wins in Abu Dhabi, he'll have 421 points. If Norris manages to finish 2nd, he will still win the championship with 426 total points.

For Piastri to win the championship, both Verstappen and Norris would have to DNF, and Piastri would have to win the race. He would then have 417 points.

I let everyone else figure out all the other possible outcomes if they finish further down the points ladder. Right now it's Norris's to lose.

I can't even began to understand how badly McLaren botched that. They had one job...

It was amusing to hear Will Joseph tell Lando that RB and Verstappen lost all flexibility by pitting under SC when Lando asked if they should’ve followed RB’s strategy. Oh look, who got P1 despite the lack of so called flexibility.

I think they were really expecting there to be another safety car a few laps later and only then would their strategy have actually worked.

True. Towards the end of stint 2, I figured they’d let Lando run out his mediums and switch to softs for the last 7-10 laps. Give him a chance at least. By the time Lando came in for his 2nd stop, he was done for already.

OTOH, Williams man Sainz probably making Elkann and Co occasionally wonder if they messed up switching to Hamilton. 2026 will tell…

Nah, Leclerc is struggling with the car as well, and he's been driving for Ferrari for seven years. Williams has done a good job of rebuilding but I wonder how they split resources between 2025 and 2026 since Ferrari switched to 2026 five races in.
