Formula One 2026 Season anticipation

For Australia, I'll be interested in how much of an advantage Ferrari has off the line. They've clearly figured out how to spool up the turbos faster than everyone else.

I think it's something a little more complex than just a smaller turbo. The turbo is limited in size with both minimum and maximum boundaries (100-110mm on exducer blade outer diameter, 30-35mm on inducer). It can also be no less than 12 kg, so a smaller turbo that is heavier just to meet weight requirements would likely lose any benefits it provided off the line. I could be wrong, but I think it's something in the design, not simply a question of size.
 
On Apple TV go to sports tab. There is a video explaining all the rule changes. Also reports on each of the practice secessions. It appears that Max and Redbull are still fast. The engineers are going to be heavily involved during the race. There is so much to keep up with.

There won't be any advantage if they don't qualify in the # 1 and 2 spots. If they're anywhere else, they'll have to safely get around whoever is "stuck" in front of them.
Audi and Aston-Martin Honda have their own.

Definitely not true. there's a lot of passing that takes place off the line, especially when drivers bog down during launch. I've seen drivers make up four positions before turn 1. The only reason the teams are discussing start procedures is because some teams may be at a disadvantage with an inability to spool up their turbo while idling at race start.
