Mines the 4 Banger, I made a venture from chevy w/ my last vehicle, a ford mustang....wow all ive got to say is 3 letters POSQuote:
Is your Colorado a 4 banger or the 5 banger? Besides, you have a significantly larger displacement, so one would expect more power. You should have gotten the GMC Canyon. GMC grills look great. Chevy grills IMO are kind of ... well, to put it kindly, lame. Yeah, I am pretty much a Ford guy, but the new modular engines drove me to a Chevy motorhome and I like it, but would still like to replace the grill with one off a GMC.Quote:
Eh, not to bad, I mean its no 2.9 185hp colorado like i drive........Quote:
Service dept says it's normal and will be gone within 2 drains.
I've only put 3 miles on it so I can't comment on mileage. Yes, the base motor is the 2.3L DOHC Duratec -143 bhp.

That's got the modular engine, which is supposed to be all very nice, but I am an old school pushrod guy. My brother has two very nice Mustangs, an '82 5.0 and a '95 supercharged 5.0.Quote:

It is not that great though in the big picture..In 1986 a Toyota 22RE I4 made 116HP in stock trim so fast forward 21 year's and we have only improved on that a little bit!!! I mean you would think that Tq and HP and fuel milage would be way up in 21 year's!!!I can not recall off the top of my head what the current Toyota 2.7I4 makes in the bas Tacoma but I will find out.

Is this a DOHC engine? Standard engine in the Ranger now? Expected fuel economy? Just curious...

The 2.3 liter Duratec (a Mazda engine) in the Fusion/Milan puts out 160 HP. In a Focus it's about 156 HP. I suspect the Ranger's version is tuned for torque.
