You know if you really want to mess with them go get some Royal Purple and put it in there then go back and tell them your oil turned purple......

Now that would be funny!

Service dept says it's normal and will be gone within 2 drains.

I've only put 3 miles on it so I can't comment on mileage. Yes, the base motor is the 2.3L DOHC Duratec -143 bhp.

Eh, not to bad, I mean its no 2.9 185hp colorado like i drive........

FORD

Is your Colorado a 4 banger or the 5 banger? Besides, you have a significantly larger displacement, so one would expect more power. You should have gotten the GMC Canyon. GMC grills look great. Chevy grills IMO are kind of ... well, to put it kindly, lame. Yeah, I am pretty much a Ford guy, but the new modular engines drove me to a Chevy motorhome and I like it, but would still like to replace the grill with one off a GMC.

That's got the modular engine, which is supposed to be all very nice, but I am an old school pushrod guy. My brother has two very nice Mustangs, an '82 5.0 and a '95 supercharged 5.0.

It is not that great though in the big picture..In 1986 a Toyota 22RE I4 made 116HP in stock trim so fast forward 21 year's and we have only improved on that a little bit!!! I mean you would think that Tq and HP and fuel milage would be way up in 21 year's!!!I can not recall off the top of my head what the current Toyota 2.7I4 makes in the bas Tacoma but I will find out.

This is a bad argument. That Ranger engine is a Ford-built MZR without the VVT and tuned for torque/econ. Technically that same engine block makes 270hp in another varient.

Back to the main topic, it has not been uncommon over the years for the factory to include leak detection dye in any of the fluids, even the refrigerant. The dye glows when looked at with a black light, helping to pinpoint leaks. In the past, it seems to come and go, possibly depending on if they know they are looking for problems for a particular configuration.

SRBowen, start your Chevy-lovin', Ford bashing thread somewhere else.

Like others have said, I believe the green tint is due to leak detect dye. No worries.

The 2.3 liter Duratec (a Mazda engine) in the Fusion/Milan puts out 160 HP. In a Focus it's about 156 HP. I suspect the Ranger's version is tuned for torque.

It's pretty much out of breath by 5,000 rpms, but I find myself downshifting on on the highway if the revs fall below 2300 rpms.

Wait until about 7K miles. I have a 2006 B2300 and thought it was gutless @ first; now it pulls from about 1400 RPM much more nicely.

Lets get one thing straight buddy, I was not directing my comments toward you, so how about you just mind your buisness like everyone else does and just shut it? I guess since i hate ford so much you`d like to know my first car was a ford taurus that was given to me and i put 80k on it and sold it with 270k on the clock....yes real big POS to last that long. What I said was a joke and you seem to not have a sense of humor and take stuff the wrong way, get a life.
