Ford EcoBoost 2.0 - What off the shelf oil for "longer" OCIs?

Let me ask you this, how is that more shear stable when the M1 EP is their best offering, no? At least thats what I always thought. I would think the EP would be the most shear stable since its touted as going 20k.
It was tested in HPL’s lab here. A shock to everyone.

Our youngest son has a 2013 Escape with a 2.0 Ecobust, fuel dilution has always been an issue based upon my nose and not a UOA. Try to keep the OCI at 4-5K miles max. He moved out to Colorado 2 years ago and prior to the trip I put in 5W-30 M1 EP in not knowing when it would get changed again. Trip out there was about 1800 miles and over the next 15 months he put another 2K miles. Told him to get get it changed at a quicklube in Basalt. Probably should have had it done sooner.
Your nose is no accurate measure of fuel dilution. Every single oil change I’ve ever done has reeked of fuel to me, including my 14.4k OCI that had less than 1% fuel as verified by GCMS at WearCheck. Don’t believe every internet myth you’ve ever read and internalize it without some pretty solid proof to do so (I.e. personal verification by testing).

So my wifes old Edge will be given to my mom to use. The Edge takes 5w30. I dont know what OCI she's used in the past for her other car but as we know EcoBoost engines dilute the oil with fuel.

What oil could be ran that still in spec ( for warranty purpose, still has ford ext. warranty ) that she can run longer if she doenst catch the mileage in time? She might go 6500 or 7500 miles before she lets me know its due ( I plan on changing it for her ).

I was going to run the FL910s OEM filter but those Car Quest Premium filters are looking nice...
Run a UOA to check for fuel dilution. My wife's 2013 Fusion 2.0 EB has nearly 200k miles, is short tripped daily & has no fuel dilution issues. I've posted a couple UOA's on it here. That engine has seen Amsoil SS, PUP, M1 & HPL (as well as the first 20k mi on Motorcraft blend). Wear numbers are very low, it runs quiet & smooth.

On M1 & PUP I run a 5k OCI & with HPL or Amsoil it gets 10k OCI's.

This particular engine seems to mechanically shear the oil though. I've since bumped up to 5W-40 but no UOA on that yet.

I've owned a 2.0 ecoboost for six years, based on my experience this is one engine that I would not do extended oil change intervals on. I prefer to use cheap synthetics and change it often, sometimes as early as 3,000 miles.
I don't understand why Ford recommends 10k OCI with Motorcraft synthetic blend oil (which is about 80% conventional oil)
for the ecoboost engines in general. If I owned a vehicle with an ecoboost engine, I'd be using only group III full synthetic, and using a short oil change interval (3k to 5k miles).
