Filter options? Expensive or cheap?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, there's still people that live in 21st century USA that believe more expensive means the product is better.

That's funny. I won't go over 5 bucks for a filter because as Bob's tests pointed out, it simply doesn't equate to more protection. Remember on his Escort where the Mobil 1 filter produced significantly more wear?

I personally ran Mobil 1 and WIX for 10k, and did an analysis of both oil samples. Same run, same driving conditions, sane results. Mobil 1 = $12, WIX = $3.50, guess my choice.

The Wix 1347 that I bought had small burrs in the threads.....but nothing that would affect the way it mounts to the engine.

K&N and Mobil 1 are very nice, but too expensive for my taste.
