I dropped into the Co-op gas station in town to check out their motor oils. Here are some shots. They seen up to date and market. truck version, a performance version and a high mileage version. The high mileage version was a semi- synthetic which I thought was a practical idea. They had 020, 5w20 and 5w30. Federated Co-Op owns a refinery in Regina, Saskatchewan and refine light and heavy oil from Saskatchewan and Alberta. Their’s no build dealer in town so I couldn’t check that non gas station prices. It’s not marketed in big box stores.

I don’t know why this oil is not marketed in stores. They own a refinery but only sell it at their service stations and bulk stations. It’s the same marketing technique as Petrocan.

I would imagine it is a price control strategy and they do not want to scale for larger distribution and taking on debt for that.

There is no place on Vancouver Island that sells anything g other than 1L containers.

I’d use their oil every time if I could o rain it at a reasonable price. I asked and they won’t bring it in.
