Up north I used 5w30 full synthetic in generator mower and snow blower. Didn’t have a specific brand whichever was priced best.

SP 5w40 Quaker State Euro Synthetic currently in my 5.5HP push lawnmower engine.
When new, the product cardboard box contained 10w30. Mower is now several years old - never uses oil and never tasted 10w30 beyond it's first two mowing seasons (April thru October).
OCI every two years and I generally cut our small yard lawn (front & back) twice a week.
Still starts on first pull of the cord and even in early April, after sitting in the garage for five months.
Always used 93 octane Shell Premium as fuel.

I use Mobil 1 10w-30 in my Craftsman (Honda powered) push mower. Has anyone else noticed that M1 gives off a certain "smell" (not unpleasant) on hot restarts?
Kirkland signature diesel 15-40 oil currently. Put that in my truck and have enough on hand to put it in all my small motors.
To date, I've used Amsoil Small Engine 10w30 in my mower (Kaw FS691).
I was using PP 5w30 in my Ariens sno blower, but on the last change, I went with the Amsoil Small Engine 10w30 because it should be fine for our temps and there is a very good chance that I will not be outside if it's 0*F
However, my next buy will be HPL oils.
