I want to know the PAO % in the current M1 0w30. Thank You
Mobil is one of the world's largest providers of PAO, but, as others have noted, this is a commodity product, there are other manufacturers and blenders will likely have several in their rolodex.I seem to recall reading and even saw a video long ago about Castrol and Amsoil buying their PAO base stock from ExxonMobil. Was this just a rumor and if not a rumor, is this still true today? TIA.
Note that INEOS (a UK-based chemical company) and ENEOS (Nippon Oil, based out of Japan) are not related. What is the PAO content of Eneos 0w20?
Does Chevron Philips make fully synthetic motor oil? I know Gulf is owned by them but I don’t recall seeing any Gulf brand oil on the market for a long long time.Mobil is one of the world's largest providers of PAO, but, as others have noted, this is a commodity product, there are other manufacturers and blenders will likely have several in their rolodex.
That said, Mobil's portfolio of base oils is impressive and they do have some products that may be unique, so there indeed may be a case where Mobil is a sole supplier of certain types.
Chevron produces Havoline and Delo, I'll have to dig into this a bit more, give me a minute.Does Chevron Philips make fully synthetic motor oil? I know Gulf is owned by them but I don’t recall seeing any Gulf brand oil on the market for a long long time.

EDIT:
Yeah, CP Chem is a joint venture between Chevron (the above oils) and Philips66, which produces: Philips66, Kendall and Redline
Learn something new everyday, had no idea that Redline is by CP. Thanks!

P66 also produces Grp3 via hydro processing …
It's 1-5% PAO and 5-10% GTL...I think I had been posted awhile back that M1 10W-30 is a 100% group 3 oil. I'm guessing the only ones that contain pao in the base oil are the 0Ws?
Wow, talk about marketplace confusion! Let's go with Eneos. I was thinking of the Japanese company when the UK company was mentioned.Note that INEOS (a UK-based chemical company) and ENEOS (Nippon Oil, based out of Japan) are not related.
