Exposed lightbulb, base thread prep?

I've started putting a tiny dab of Sil-Glyde on the bulb bases. Definitely helps stopping them from getting "stuck" in the bulb socket.

My first suggestion was going to be to install a wall pack style light, but since you like the old fashion look, (can’t say I blame you) I second the gooseneck barn style light.

The former will put out much more light though.
