I have a '92 Camry that we have spent way too much money repairing the past 2 years - over $2,000. Now, just a few weeks after spending $400 for a new muffler and pipe, the rest of the exhaust system is failing. Another $700 of repairs awaits me. The failures are all in the joints between pipes and the catalytic converter. All fairly rusted and the gaskets are falling out in pieces. Repair shop does not believe there will be enough of the flanges left to re-bolt the pieces together with new gaskets. Has anyone used a high temp putty to repair a joint like these? If so, which product and how long did your repair last?
