Glad you figured it out, I also have the same 16 port switch but not currently using it, it's just a basic unmanged gigabit switch. I have a few cable testers, I bought a Fluke from Lowe's which is the one that I mostly use but also have a Southwire as well that really works just as good, the Southwire is well worth it and cheaper than the other one but honestly imo they are only worth it if you are making cables from scratch. I have run into an issue once with a pre-made cable where it would not connect at 1gbps but would at 100mbps.

I found sometimes that the modem/routers can be very finicky when changing out equipment that a lot of times you can just reboot it which will resolve the issue.
