its a 1999 grand am se 2.4L sedan auto trans.

here is the sound.i took it with a digital camera and put it on sensitive and loud volume so it would pick everything up.its loud though so i dont know if you can pinpoint or even tell what it is.

the guy said it was mobile but did not know what kind.and he said it was 10w30.maybe he says that so he can charge more for a oil change.

not yet going to change the oil and filter today.i am going to use Pennzoil high mileage.
when i here all that noise after driving for a while.i put a screw driver to the engine and have someone rev it and it sound nice and smooth inside the engine.i know i have a exhaust leak some where by the engine but cant seem to pinpoint it.

i just bought some ac delco oil filters from walmart because that's what came in my car being a GM.and there was 2 numbers from ac delco both the exact same number except one ended with E.and from what i understand it is the Ecore design.witch is supposed to be a good filter. can anyone shed some light on this for me.

Probably Mobil Clean if it was a Mobil product.

I haven't seen M1 0W20, 5W20, or the Extended Performance come in a drum. Actually, I don't believe I ever see oil change places such as Walmart, Grease Monkey, and BJ's have drums for M1 product. Considering the amount of oil they use, I think they would get M1 in drums if that was available. This is the reason I use M1 even though I don't go outside for oil change.

What kind of car?

If they don't even know what "kind" of Mobil, do you think they know what "grade" of Mobil?

Scary stuffs right there.

i did some looking around and i found that loud clicking/taping noise is from an exhaust leak at the manifold where it connects to the j-pipe.
also since i really don't know what oil is in my car and obviously he don't know either.i will be changing to the Pennzoil high mileage oil i got a few weeks ago.

does anyone have the data sheet for this oil? i cant seem to find it anywhere. not even the Pennzoil site.it always says under construction when i try and check the data sheet.
