I was able to snag one of the left over Terrain's from my local GMC Buick Dealer over Christmas week.

They were very eager to get rid of it. Was able to Negotate $8250 off Sticker and 0.9 Finance for 36 months.

Once again Used cars didn't make sense and there are deals to be had.

Elevation Package, Safety Package, 19'' wheels.

It goes in for deep tint tomorrow and floor liners on the way.

I'm going to enjoy not working on cars for a few years.

Comes with one oil change at GMC dealer, then it will go to a Bosch independent service shop for oil changes.

Happy New Year.

Beautiful and an even better deal. Congrats and wishing you many years of safe reliable motoring.

Happy New Year.

Nice looking car, love the color. Not sure Id want to deep tint it personally; I think it will be too dark given the colors.

a) Congrats and BEST of luck with it.

b) So, was your delicious deal an "8.5 to a 9"? ...over a 9? Any $ down?

c) Dark tint will look good opposite the dark wheel arch/rocker treatment. Do they offer mirror tint (reflect the Sun)?
If you remember, post back with the "percentages" you end up with.
The neighbor's kid keeps talking about tint and I can't keep up.

d) Gotta look up 'Elevation Package'; sounds intriguing. Which engine does it have?

e) Larger wheels with less sidewall height are expensive and often troublesome for my driving.
You're probably mostly highway in Texas. ...cool wheels! They so mimic the blacks on our CX-5.

Nice. I almost bought an Equinox and looked at those when I got my Cadillac XT4 but the only thing that stopped me was the Caddy was assembled in the USA. Very nice car, though. I don't remember which transmission is in that but drain and fill it every 30,000 or so miles. My Caddy had dirty fluid at 21,000 when I did it (GM 9 speed). It should use the cheap(er) Dex 6.

Yeah good deal $12k down (roughly half)...

1.5L Turbo 4 cylinder.

Elevation package is mostly black 19 inch wheels and blacked out body parts.

Tint is a must in San Antonio, never seen mirror tint here before..

Yeah makes total sense to change the fluid at 30k.

The fluid changes on GM cars are about as straight-forward as it gets for a DIYer. Plug on the bottom of the trans, fill plug near LH axle (usually have to remove the front tire for access). Drain and add fluid until it runs out of fill/level plug, start the car and add until it runs out with motor running. Let set a few minutes w/motor running until the car warms up a little, then reinstall fill/level plug and you're done. FWIW, adding fluid is easier if you can get access to the fill plug on top of the trans but I use a Harbor Freight fluid transfer pump (around $7.00) and just add through the level plug.

I was surprised that this vehicle has a spin on oil filter as well, instead of the cartridge that most other modern cars have.

Compared to my Lexus where they covered the fill port with the catback behind the turbo - but other side is clear - yet no port. 🧐
Even the oil change layout is thoughtful on my GM’s - right behind the aluminum shield …

I think that's awesome. I'm not convinced that cartridges are a better mouse trap. For one, they take longer if you change the o-ring as you should. And I just did a 3.6 in an '18 Colorado (the Hengst housing) where the quickie lube had cranked it down way too tight. It seems only 10% of the population understands these only need to be lightly snugged. Couple that with plastic and it's just not a great design. I don't hate the Toyota metal housings, but it seems only ~50% of Toys got them and the average owner has no desire to upgrade to metal.

Funny that Hengst and angst share some similarities...... ;)
