Emergency help removing ram fender rust accelerator tape.....

I am slowly doing a full woolwax job on our 24 ram 2500 tradesmen. I thought this sound deadener tape often referred to as rust assurance or rust accelerator tap. It is a very rock hard tape and not even a razor blade will touch it. Anyone know how to remove it.

I do not want what happened to this blue truck to happen to this new truck. This was only 4 winters.

Can't answer in the RAM, but in 2017+ super duty,.the fender is attached with a adhesive, a heat gun is used to heat the adhesive which allows removal of the fender.

Supplemental, the adhesive Ford uses to attach the fender to the cab sells for $90 per small tube.

Buddy just got rid of his 2020 work truck- rust is same are which I though unusaul.

You risk damaging the paint with the amount of heat required to remove some of that stuff. I would spray right over it with whatever you are using.

I was looking at a few 22 and 23 dodge trucks and they all had rusty wheel wells and fenders. Disappointing.

Am I reading correctly that these things are rusting in 4 years? Isn't that sort of insane with galvanized sheet metal?

I think so too, I would spray it for this winter and then next summer try removing it on a hot day with a hair dryer, and a plastic putty knife.
