I received my order from Amsoil and was pretty disappointed with my filters! I ordered 3 total. First an Eao42 for my Dakota 4.7... an Ea15k50 for my Jeep 5.7... and a Ea15k20 for my wife's Santa Fe 2.4. Now that holidays are over I'm getting ready to change out my wife's so I looked at all the filters. Eao42 looked normal but the other 2 I had issues with.
-First the Ea15k50 looks like half the holes are cover by the anti-drainback? It doesn't look normal but maybe won't cause a problem?
-But the Ea15k20 concerns me with the wire(?) hanging in it( it is attached towards the top of the filter from what I can tell, not floating around). It's thin and looks like it wouldn't take much for that to be up inside the engine. I will be contacting Amsoil tomorrow about this one... I'll post pics of it in next post...
I don't post much, if at all, but I do frequent the site almost daily and I've learned a lot and checking over filters is one of them. I have also been using Amsoil for a long time and this is my first bad experience. I know they don't make their filters but the wire inside the filter does concern me!
