This thread could very well shake the foundation for what we know to be true and safe for here ever after!

Not to be a party-pooper, but the used oil analysis won't be accurate.

The OP stated that he left the Amsoil EOA filter on the engine for this run, which will hold about .5 quart of what was in the engine before.

the mix that was in the engine before will have lots of 'modern' additives - Boron, soluable, moly, high Ca detergent..that weren't used in oils back in the SF days.

So you're going to see a used oil analysis with a 'small amount of everything' in it, and most likely decent wear, as it is only 3k. A VOA of this oil would have told us a LOT more about what an SF oil looks like.....

Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to seeing it, for sure!

Worker: I don't know what happened boss!

Boss: Just send them a copy from the last PU UOA we did!

Seriously OP, you have a lot more balls than I'll ever have.

This is a good point, now that i think about it the experiment would have been much better with a fresh filter even if it was an economy filter

You may be right. Hindsight, I should have changed that filter. Like I said before, and it's obvious, I'm cheap. But then again, 3 qts. of 1989 QS, 1 qt. of Sunoco 2001, and a pint of 2009 Super Tech oil mixed at the previous OCI shouldn't screw things up too much I wouldn't imagine. We're only talking about 1/4 cup maybe of oil.
BTW how long does it take for Blackstone to do the test and get back to you anyway? They have my email too. Still waiting...

You're not talking a 1/4 cup of oil - you're talking about 1/4 to 1/2 of a QUART of oil...but hey, what's done is done - we'll take it (when you get it!)

I was refering to the mixed oil that's left in the small filter that would be considered "modern" = not much in reality. Most of it is 1989 QS. Only the Super Tech oil (1pt in whole crankcase) is modern. The Sunoco is fairly old too being 01'. Very small amounts of Super Tech in the filter either way. As far as VOA? I'll gladly send someone a qt. to have that done.

Haven't received any email yet from Blackstone but I just got it in the mail. I'll rewrite it and post it in the UOA area, give me a minute or 2!

Your a day late and a dollar short my friend. I DID put 4+ quarts of this oil in her car. I WILL get a used oil analysis from Blackstone on this and I WILL post it here. Oh, ye of little faith. I bear the wrath of my wife on a daily basis, nothin' new here. If I though for a minute that it would hurt her car I woundn't have done it in the first place. I would just like to see how the oil held up (or didn't hold up). If its [censored], then I'll use it as chainsaw bar oil. If it holds up ok then I'll do it again, and again, and again, just to use it up and to say Nah Nah Nan Na Nah Nah!

Oh, I almost forgot, Nah Nah Nan Nah Nah!
