Don't Tell The Wife

I really do want to see this UOA.
I'm betting that in a moderate performance application with a classic 3K drain interval, this oil will do just fine.

Naw, I'll tell them (Blackstone) exactly what it is.

Tell them it was brand new Pennzoil Ultra 5W-20. They'll probably tell you everything looks good and you can extend the oci out another 10k miles.

How did you know? I just bought a bridge in Brookland too! I can't wait to go to NY and see it!

A little Devils advocate work here. I'll respectfully disagree, I think you'll get an unbiased more accurate report w/o disclosing the age and brand of the oil. JMO Flame away guys.........Let them work a little for their money.

I currently have 15 year old SH rated oil in my car BUT I wouldn't put that oil in. First of all 10w40 is too thick for a PA winter and secondly the 10W40's of that era weren't the best.
If it were SF rated 10w30 I might use it next spring.

That's what oil companies would want you to think. It is much longer than that.

I would tell them as little as possible. This ensures an unbiased report. The other option if it isn't too expensive is to send one with full disclosure and the the other blank. I'd chip in a couple bucks to make this happen and Im sure others would too.

Well, I don't expect anyone to fork over $ for my messed up experiment. I'm just curious if this stuff is worth using. No need to go overboard. I appreciate the offer though.

My great uncle has some straight weight Valvoline (and maybe others) in paper cans that someone is glad to try out after this OCI is posted.

I've got a few cases of Valv.,Pennzoil and others in cardboard cans but someone told me they might be worth more than using them as a lubricant. I've yet to meet this elusive old oil buyer. If ya see him, send him my way will ya.

Alrighty then, the wife just racked up enough miles (3,000) to change out this oil. Yes the car is still running great and hasn't fallen apart yet fella's. I'll send it to Blackstone and see what happens! I've got her (car) in the garage now and will change it this morning and get the sample off today. Wish me lots of luck will ya! Oh, I'm gonna use Motocraft 5-20 in it for this round due to winter starting to close in on us here. I'll use an older style AC Delco PF-52 filter. I bought a few of these AC's at Walmart a few yrs ago before they changed to the plastic E-core cage. I'll post here and in the UOA area when I get the news back from Blackstone Labs.

Yah, I can't wait either. If it comes back OK then I'll def. use it again this spring/summer.

And.....hopefully you'll have the analysis sent to you by email. All this waiting around is killing us, man!
