The fire behind us is out of control (eldorado fire). It's hot in Los Gatos today, almost 110*. Hot? Yes. Beautiful day!
I am so grateful, so happy the fires are under control.
I love it here.

My subdivision in Midway UT is about 90 percent people from CA. The real estate seems to rise double digits every year since I have been here. Guess people from CA have very deep pockets for real-estate. I work in CA about 45 days per year, and have to say I love the weather and the food......My wife and I grew up when there was 20 million people there. It was a fantastic place to have a childhood. It all went down hill after the last 20 million moved in. It's my understanding population is now pushing 38 million.
We have a saying among ex-Californians-"you don't know how much it sucks.....until you leave".
Happy to say our first cooling trend is forecast for this coming week plus 2 or 3 days with rain.
That is a shame. CA is such a beautiful state. A wide variety of geography not matched by any other state.

Yeah … a portion of the grid fed by South Texas Project plus many other means …Yeah we live in a new subdivision in Northwest San Antonio. Half the new neighbors have CA plates.
The move to Texas has been going on for years. When we lived in Austin EVERYONE was from California.
California has such beauty and natural wonder, its a shame people have to leave to make a living or get some affordable housing.
What is the deal with rolling blackouts? Power grid not being kept up?
Never dealt with anything more than a blip on power outages in Austin or San Antonio.

Del Mar is incredible. Problem is, I would need $5-$8M to afford the house I want.If my life situation allowed for it, I'd move to California in a second. I used to travel quite a bit for work and pleasure and really enjoyed the time I've spent in Del Mar. I'll probably wind up in Arizona, Nevada, or Utah if I'm lucky.
Despite many individuals leaving CA, or so it seems, the real estate market around me is red hot right now. Most houses are selling within 4-7 days. So, the area is still desirable to some people....maybe just not certain folks.
